Dr. Sandhu our resident surgeon, graduated from Punjab Agricultural University, India in 1990. After graduation, Dr. Sandhu actively volunteered doing veterinary care in the farming community of his home town, Faridkot, Punjab. In 1991, Dr. Sandhu had his first entrepreneur business, a construction company. In 1993, he moved to British Columbia, Canada and owned an orchard with various fruit trees. At this time Dr. Sandhu worked at a feedlot treating 7500 beef cattle at a large ranch. Dr. Sandhu passed his Veterinary boards for the U.S in 1995.His ECFVG clinical rotation was completed at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine, and his surgical residency was at Animal Medical Center of Southern California in West Los Angeles. By 1999 Dr. Sandhu moved to Corona,CA From 2005-2009 Dr. Sandhu was the resident surgeon for a 24 hour Animal Emergency Hospital. In this time Dr. Sandhu was a partner in a trucking company and owned an Indian restaurant. In 2009 AV Veterinary Center was opened. From there All Creatures Veterinary Center was purchased in 2010. Finally in 2011 Canyon Country Veterinary Hospital was purchased. Dr. Sandhu has special interest in ortho surgeries and spinal surgeries. In Dr. Sandhu’s spare time he enjoys breeding and showing Arabian horses, spending time with his children and keeping up his ranch including: 6 dogs, 2 cats, 4 peacocks, 40 horses, 12 goats, 2 pigeons, 7 bunnies and 1 parrot.
Amy is the Operations Manager at AV Veterinary Center. She has worked in the veterinary field for 14 years in many different aspects of the hospital. Amy has pets inside and outside of work. She and her husband have a Rottweiler named Daisy and are fostering a Pit Bull named Manning. When she is away from work, she enjoys playing tennis and spending time at the pool.
Kristen is a Veterinary Assistant here at AV Veterinary Center. She has been in this field for going on 10 years and has been with AV for 5 years. Kristen is born and raised in the Antelope Valley where she grew up in a household that was always field with different types of rescue animals. Kristen developed her love and passion for helping animals at a young age. Kristen currently has one dog of her own, Samantha Jo but is looking forward to adding more fur children to her family. When Kristen isn’t at work, you can find her outside playing or coaching Softball or inside watching her favorite sports team play. Kristen is incredibly proud of the work that is done here at AV Veterinary Center and is excited to continue her career and continue to expand her knowledge at this hospital in the great community.
Lyndsi is a Veterinary Assistant at AV Veterinary Center. Lyndsi went to school for Criminal Justices. Lyndsi previously worked as an EMT for 4 years. She is currently taking an Emergency Medical Technician Course to keep her certifications up to date. In 2013, Lyndsi was given the opportunity to work in the veterinary field. She started at AV Veterinary Center as a kennel assistant and worked her way up. Lyndsi is still a licensed EMT for the State of California and planning on returning back to school to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. In Lyndsi’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her friends, hanging out with her pets, and doing anything outdoors. Lyndsi has 5 German Shepherds, 1 Terrier Mix, 1 Quarter Horse, 2 Cats and 4 Chickens.
Nichol is the Front Office Supervisor. She has always had a passion for animals. She started her career in the veterinarian filed at the age of 15 as a volunteer and has since worked in several departments throughout the hospital. She is especially passionate about our feline patients and enjoys giving them extra love and kisses. Nichol and her husband enjoy sailing, hiking and traveling. They share their home with a four-year-old Golden Retriever named Miracle, a three-year-old black kitty named Ava and a seven-year-old Main Coon-Ragdoll named Elves-because he is the king of the house. Nichol and her husband, Robert, dream of one day living on a boat and sailing the world.
Lauren holds two positions at AV Veterinary Center. She works in our back office as a veterinary assistant and is in charge of all marketing and social media of AVVC and our sister hospitals. Though she has only been a part of our team for a year and a half, she has always been surrounded by animals. Lauren found her niche volunteering at the Lancaster Animal Shelter in high school. Lauren graduated with a Bachelors in Animal Science and Biology from California State University, Chico. While attending California State University, Chico, Lauren gained knowledge and hands-on experience with large feed animals. Now she is eager to continue expanding her education in the small animal field. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys being outdoors, swimming, snowboarding, and hanging out with her sidekick “Jelly” the bulldog.
Alexandra is a registered veterinarian technician at AVVC. Alexandra graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology in 2005 and has been working as a veterinary technician since then. In her spare time, she loves to read and spend time with her family and her beautiful English bulldog named Luna.
